Be Strong — But Not in Yourself
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)
We live in a time that celebrates independence, self-reliance, and personal strength. But the call of Scripture is different. It is not a call to be strong in yourself—it is a call to be strong in the Lord.
This matters because life is not a casual journey. It is a battle.
And if you misunderstand the battle, you will misplace your strength.
The challenges we face daily—pressure, disappointment, opposition—are often just symptoms. The real battle is spiritual. And that is why natural strength will never be enough.
Many of us have access to everything God has provided:
– His Word
– The power of prayer
– The presence of the Holy Spirit
Yet we still live intimidated, discouraged, and uncertain.
Why?
Because strength is not just about what you have—it is about what is happening within you.
Saul had the armor, but no strength in his heart.
David had no armor, but he knew his God.
And that made all the difference.
When you know who God is, fear loses its grip.
When you understand your position in Him, intimidation loses its voice.
When you draw from His power, you can stand in any battle.
This is where it begins:
Not with how weak you feel…
But with how strong God is.
So today, whatever you are facing—be strong.
Be strong in your faith.
Be strong in your obedience.
Be strong in your trust in God’s power and authority.
Because the strength you need is not something you manufacture—it is something you receive.
And when you are strong in the Lord, everything He has given you becomes effective.
Stand firm. Stay rooted. And be strong.
